Nature Poetry, featuring Carol Barrett

During this workshop we will review the functions of nature poetry, and then hear some awesome poems by nature lovers. This will move us into writing our own draft poems. The instructor will share some poems inspired by walks along a canal near her home, and provide prompts so you can write about the plants, wild animals, or waterways near you. We will discuss how and where to send your new nature poems out for publication.

Carol Barrett has published three volumes of poetry, most recently READING WIND, and one of creative nonfiction, PANSIES. An NEA Fellow in Poetry, Carol has taught the craft to students ranging from kindergartners to doctoral candidates. She has lived in nine states and in England.
